I wonder who came up with all of these icons! Must be someone who LOVES compupters!
Mom, my bet is it wasn't one person who came up with all of these ... kinda like the dictionary -- it's an ever-evolving "language" made up by probably millions of people who use email and the internet to communicate.
This list is a tiny fraction of the thousands of "emoticons" people have made up. Just like we have millions of English words made up of combinations of our 26-character alphabet, there are so many combinations used for these weird little icons. Pretty cool, eh? I like the long-stemmed rose.
