A Bookmaker in our midst...

We have recently been honoured with a visit from Cousin Gabe, the free spirit from the south. We picked him up on Tuesday a.m. at the Seabus, and went straight away for a snowshoe outing up Cypress. Yesterday he came with us when we went downtown to meet Julian for his birthday lunch (sushi, at Gabe's favourite Vancouver sushi place). He has been showing Nicholas and Oliver how to make little books, with great patience, I should add (apparently they are his youngest students yet). The boys really liked having him here, and are looking forward to his next visit. Thanks for coming, Gabe!!
p.s. no, Nicholas does NOT have a beard...Gabe was showing them how to make chin puppets!

Thanks for sharing this MaryBeth. I'm sure Gabe enjoyed his visit too. Beautiful little books!
Love, mom
that is so cool cool cool, Oliver and Nicholas that you guys got to:
1) hang out with your very cool cousin, Gabe
2) make those great little books. They're the perfect size for you -- easy to fill with things that are important to you. And they probably fit in your pocket! :)
3)get to know Gabe better and he got to know YOU guys better too. (I happen to know because a little bird told me, that Gabe thinks you guys are great!)
4) see that somebody who has a beard and dreadlocks isn't really as scary as you might have thought. People with different hair and odd clothes and different ways of laughing and talking and living ... they can be just as kind and fun and interesting as anyhbody else, right?
okay, i'm off to get my nice hot bath. My hair looks a little bit like Gabe's tonight. It's all tangly! :))
xoxoxoxo to Oliver and Nicholas (and your parents too)
