This is a bloom from our camelia tree. It is the most amazingly prolific tree, despite relative neglect. Every year, without fail, it is covered in blooms that last for about 3 weeks from start to finish.
oh, that's easy. it's a trick maureen told me...you put your object on the scanner bed, but don't close the lid. the scanner reads the background as black. check out this woman's scanner art: http://www.katinkamatson.com/prints.html

Wow! how perfect! I've seen that tree in bloom many times and it's the nicest camelia I know. Get a picture of the whole tree.
