Big Machine Paradise!

Last weekend we went to the Ocean Cement annual Open House on Granville Island. There are lots of different machines to climb up into and push buttons on and blow the horns of, and try to turn the steering wheel of, including several concrete trucks, a huge front-end loader, and a really cool forklift truck.

There was also a giant pile of sand with lots of big Tonka trucks for them to push around, demonstrations of how concrete is made and used, and a very interesting kinetic sculpture that is apparently a work in progress.
