Mystery Picture Revealed!
Well, there were certainly a lot of good guesses about the mystery picture, but Grandma was the closest with her guess of a low growing plant covered in a mineral residue.
The picture was taken of part of a dugout drainage. The weird white stuff is actually last year's algae covered in salt. The water drained out of the dugout in the fall and the algae was left high and dry. As the water evaporated off the algae the salt was left behind. As the algae dried out completely it shrunk and pulled apart in little clumps, causing it to look a bit like old cow pies.
Here's the original picture:

It was algae! That's a far cry from my first guess....frozen cow pies. That was fun Brenda!
Still looks like moldy cheese to me. In fact Dad brought some home from Save-On that looks strangely similar.
Way too technical for us little-brains, Brenda!! Thanks for the teaser though. i'll have to think of one to stump YOU!
Well, it's good to know that everyone was stretching their brain muscles a bit to figure that one out. It sure did stump me when I found it!
PS Mum - isn't it always a given that Dad has strange looking (and bad tasting) cheese?
