Visitor

This little guy was visiting us last night while I was welding cattle guards. Roma saw him from the kitchen window running back and forth behind me so she brought the camera out. Pahokee had some fun chasing him around under the pile of steel and trying to steal the meat that we were leaving for him.

He is about five inches long not including his tail; the i-beams are 7" wide so you can get a sense of scale. Since we don't have chickens anymore, he is welcome to stay.

Yes, short tailed weasel is correct, Brenda. I know he is a he because.... uhhh, let's see..... hmmmm....actually he could be a she. The only way to tell would be to examine him very carefully and he might bite.

i would say you could tell if it is a he or a she by following the weasel around for awhile and see if it has babies in a nest/burrow somewhere, eh? Cute critter and very brave!
