Spring snow squall

The last couple of mornings we have had cool temps, down to -8°C, and snow on the ground. This morning I took this shot looking up into Powers Creek. The colors are no comparison to MB's brilliant photos in the previous posting, but I thought they were beautiful anyway. It's been a cold spring so far and so the grass isn't greening yet, the willows haven't turned color and only a few have pussy willows showing. It will be a long time before we start to see leaves. The hummingbirds came back a week ago and are probably having a hard time with the low temps.

Roma and Peter (can't figure out which of you posted this photo) ... I really like this photo. It's very evocative of the place, the elements, the character of your home. I wouldn't even compare it to Marybeth's vibrant color photos -- color isn't everything. REmember all the awesome black and white photography of Ansel Adams? Too many people forget to look deeper than the colors of a photo to it's other qualities: form, texture, atmosphere, emotion, and negative space.

Your photos are wonderful. Keep it up!

Peter, i agree with Maureen, colour can be over-rated! This photo reminds me of the last 2 you posted with the wolf and the cranes, only monochromatic with blues instead of browns. It looks cold, and damp, but beautiful.
