Ruby-Crowned Kinglet

This morning we spied a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet in our dogwood tree. Using our trusty bird book, we identified him (the male has the crown, which he can flash or hide). He was very cute, and puffy, and flicked his wings a lot. The crown was an amazingly bright red-orange (these pictures are from the internet).

What a cute little bird! I don't think I've ever seen one. If so I didn't identify it. Keep up the good work Nicholas and Ollie. Let me know other birds that you see.

For a minute there I thought you had taken the photos and I was going to say that they are excellent photos. Oh well. ..... Beautiful bird! We have them around Tatla Lake.

i wish that i could take credit for them, but alas, he didn't look like he was going to hang around long enough for me to run for the camera.
