Ho Ho Hummmm
This little female hummingbird found an especially festive place to build her nest! This is at our neighbors house, very close to their front door. You can see by the size of the Christmas light, how big the nest really is.

i was sitting outside a moment ago in the sun at our front patio, and the chickadees were coming to the feeder about 5 feet from me. i think there may be a nest of another, slightly bigger bird, in the jasmine against the house right by the patio...i WAS going to cut it back this year, but i guess i'll wait! birds are so interesting.
yes, Marybeth, I took the picture. I am going to try to get one of the inside of the nest, maybe there are some eggs in it.

Verna, my neighbor whose house this nest is at, has a new name for this picture....... "a bird on a wire in the red light district"!
