Another visitor

We have had quite a few grizzlies hanging around in the valley bottom this spring. This guy has spent the last couple of days feeding on dandelions in the field across the road. There have been a couple of sows with twins and triplets.

So far there haven't been any problems with the bears, but everyone is being very careful... don't go in the bush without a gun or bear spray, make lots of noise and pay attention.

dandelions, you say? maybe i should get myself a grizzly to eat MY dandelions, and then i could contract him out to eat other peoples' as well...hmmmm, sounds like a winning proposition!

Dandelions are plentiful here and are welcomed in the spring for their sunny faces. We enjoy our dandelions and have never used any kind of herbicide (pesticide, insecticide, or any other poison) on our place to eradicate them.
Our chickens and turkeys would scratch around and eat fresh greens all around our place and we did not want to eat eggs or poultry (or drink milk from the goats) that was contaminated with any toxins.
Two nights ago we had some bread made with dandelion greens - delicious and so good for you!
Enjoy your dandelions!

Roma, that looks like a very large but beautiful bear! Were you able to get pics of the mother and cubs that someone saw the other day?
