Back Yard Construction

At last we've started on the back yard! This is Kathy planting one of 2 quaking aspens. That's our bing cherry tree in the corner. This year we got about 150 lbs. from it.

This was taken today and shows the framing for the 3 large decks and steps between them.

This shows just the 3 decks before the framing for steps was done. There will be no grass back here but lots of decks, arbours, benches, planters and drought resistant plants. I'm thinking of having our next family (mine) reunion here. Each deck has views of the lake and city and is perfect for setting up tents!! Who wants to come?

This looks great, Mum. It's good to finally get the project underway after so much planning. Are you offering to host the next reunion? Because Roma and I are looking forward to sleeping on one of your decks. We have dibs on the biggest one.

You all have to stop this fussing about who gets which deck. I haven't even invited you yet!!! He He He! So you like my decks Nicholas! I hope to have more finished by the time you get here on Sunday. It looks like you're the first one to ask for the top deck. Do you have a tent?

See you on Sunday!!!
Love,
grandma

Mom, you don't have to invite us - we do that ourselves!

And Margie - we have a puppy who needs LOTS of room, so WE have dibs on the biggest deck. Your kids could sleep standing up anyway, then they wouldn't take up so much room.
