Countdowns to Special Days

Hi everybody, it's been pretty quiet around our blog ... bet you're all busy getting ready for Christmas and the other holidays this time of year. Or, what ....

Anyway, I just wanted to point out the countdowns in the sidebar at right. Not many days/hours/minutes left until the Winter Solstice -- longest, darkest night of the year.

What's everybody doing on Thursday evening? We're going to have a fire in our backyard, no matter how cold it is. To celebrate bringing back the light.

we don't have anything special planned for tonight, Maureen. in a few minutes we are heading to the swimming pool for the boys' lessons, and then to get our Christmas tree. We probably won't trim the tree until the weekend. It is rainy today, and very dark, which I guess is appropriate for the shortest day of the year. If we can get through the rest of 2006 without any more epic weather, we will be very happy!! Happy Winter Solstice!
