The traitor!

In the middle of the first severe winter storm to hit Alberia (as Patrick likes to call it) there was a hint of summer and tropical places!

This plant (an Amaryllis) was given to me when Mum and Dad were downsizing during the move into the new cabin. Mum says it's a traitor because it wouldn't bloom her but it will for me. I've had it for three years and didn't do anything special to it, other than water it and occasionally feed it plant food. Apparently it has decided that it likes Alberia better than Tatlayoko.

That is a most unusual colour for an amaryllis Brenda. Beautiful! Must be your green thumb.

I have heard that amaryllis are very difficult to get to bloom, so you must have some sort of magic touch, Brenda.

Wow! Looks like it really likes living in Alberta. Congratulations on getting it to bloom. Maybe I should send all my plants to you?
