I'd like to hear from a scientist on this. One of the guys from NCC said it is a slime mold and it can be kept in a terrarium by feeding it oatmeal. I wasn't sure whether or not to believe him.

It could be a mold or a weird fungues of some sort. One thing's for sure though, I would not want to grow mold in my house, even if it is in a terrarium.

It came from some kind of insect---possibly a beetle! There are eggs inside!

I will say one thing---it's very pretty!
