Tatlayoko Lake. A quiet day at the beach.

-17 C. Perfect day for a swim.

Catherine, Fritz, Ed, Michal and Peter preparing to make a splash.
Leslie, Sally, John, Roma and Jack the Lab were cheerleaders.

Fritz on the way out, Peter on the way in.

Peter

Peter making a hasty retreat.

Discussing the finer nuances of Polar Bear swimming with John
(who is much more suitably attired).
In the lower left foreground is the red emergency bag and defibrillator, just in case.
Michal and Catherine are both physicians. Always good to have on hand in these situations.

Catherine leading the charge with Ed and Michal. Michal is wearing a helmet camera.
We watched the helmet-cam footage at our house after the swim. It was extremely funny.

Time to get dressed and go home.
Everyone came over after for hot chocolate and goodies.

brrrrr....... where is Roma going in?
Been there, done that. Besides I had the beginnings of a sniffly nose, so not this time around. Next year for sure. How 'bout you?

Dad, it seems you didn't think out your post-dip wardrobe very well. Buttons take a lot more time to do up than a shirt takes to pull over your head. That means more time being cold and wet and less time being dry... and normal?
Oh! My! Gosh! Brrrrr! What a way to start the New Year! The whole party from lake to your house sounded like a lot of fun! Lookin' at those pictures made me cold! I just put on my fun fur scarf! Feels good! I think Brenda has something there! Smart girl!
Love,
Mum
I was nice and warm... no hurry to button up. When you come out of the water all the blood rushes to your skin surface and you feel nice and warm... and you turn pink.... as long as there is no wind.
