Annual Yew Lake Trail Hike
One blueberry bush, before Nicholas got to it (above), and after...
Every year we drive up to Cypress Mountain and do a beautiful hike around Yew Lake. The trail is gravel and "accessible"... not at all steep. We've been doing this since the boys were in backpack carriers, usually with a larger group of moms and their kids. The pace has slowly increased over the years as their little legs get longer and stronger. This year, we ran the trail, and feasted on blueberries (or mountain huckleberries, as some people call them). We're planning to go back up on the Labour Day weekend to pick more berries on nearby Hollyburn Mountain...yum!

Yum is right. We're doing the same thing with Saskatoons here in Tatlayoko. Ever had Saskatoon pie? No? You're missing something special.... the best pie ever!
Yum Yum is right! They look awfully big! Are they? Roma I have yet to taste that 'best pie ever'! Some day!
